Horse Power

Thanksgiving Weekend around here brings The Brigden Fair, our local, and largest, county fair. Each year, the schools in the area create a display board on plywood showing some artwork that fits the theme of the fair. This years' theme was "Horse Power" so our class created shoe print horses from the Busy Bee Kids Crafts website. They turned out very cute!

Family Treasures

In our Socials Unit, we are learning about families. The students did Family Tree projects at home (pictures to follow soon!) and they also had to bring in five family treasure that would tell us something about their family. It could be a photo, something from a trip, a really old toy, etc. They did a great job. Some were very creative items. Here are a few of my favourites (my camera battery died half way through the class, so I don't have photos of everyone :(

A Porcelain Doll from Grandma

A Mini Hockey Stick
Mickey Mouse Ears

A Serbian Shoe

A Wooden Sword from St. Martens
And a genuine deer antler (and yes, that is a little girl. She loves to hunt and fish with Dad...hence the antler)

The items they brought were so important to them! It was really cute to watch them share with their classmates.

Thanks for Peeking in Planbook. Check out the Linky Party at the Clutter Free Classroom.
